    9Cares Colorado Shares/Scouting for FoodOn Saturday November 16, 2019 the Denver Area Council is partnering with 9News to “Scout for Food” and donate to the 9Cares Colorado Shares food drive. The food drive provides food to more than 100 food banks throughout the Metro area.

    As part of 9Cares Colorado Shares food drive, volunteers are needed to help unload and sort donations. 

    Details:

    • Participants must wear a full Class A Uniform.
    • Remember they are representing the Denver Area Council and follow the Scout Oath and Law.
    • Due to safety concerns, participants must be at least 10 years of age or older; Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scouts, Explorer's or Adult Unit volunteers.
    • Understand and be willing to participate RAIN OR SHINE - the date is firm and will not be cancelled. Dress appropriately for the weather.

    9News Collection Site Drop Off Locations

    Collection site drop off locations are open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are two shifts available at each location 6:30 - 10:30 am and 10:30 am - 2:30 pm.

    Report Service Hours for Journey to Excellence to National BSA

    To reach "Gold" status for Journey to Excellence, Packs and Ships must report four service projects each year. Troops and Crews must report six service projects each year.

    Here are some helpful hints for recording your JTE service project hours:
    1. Your Unit ID is the same number used by your unit when recording Internet Advancement. If you do not know this number, please contact the Council Service Center at 303.455.5522.
    2. The Denver Area Council is Council number 061.
    3. Your local unit number must be four (4) digits. If your pack/troop number is only two (2) or three (3) digits, front fill with zeroes i.e. Pack 123 becomes Pack 0123.
    Cancellation Policy
    This event will be held RAIN OR SHINE. This will event will NOT postpone or cancel due to inclement weather. Please wear a full Class A Uniform and dress appropriately for the weather.
