    The Eagles Have Landed!

    9NEWS in Denver is the proud home to 10 Eagle Scout employees, three of whom are members of the station’s on-air staff, five of whom earned the rank in the Denver Area Council and three of whom are active supporters of the council as adult volunteers.

    Kyle Cabodi is among the newest members of the 9NEWS reporting staff after joining the station in January. He is a 2002 Eagle Scout from Troop 737, Orange County Council, San Clemente, California.

    Ashton Altieri is a meteorologist and a member of the 9NEWS weather team since 2006. He is a 1998 Eagle Scout from Troop 416 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Ashton has served as a weather merit badge counselor and a speaker at council events including the annual Eagle Scout recognition banquet.

    Mark Koebrich is the anchor of 9NEWS at 4pm, 5pm, 6pm and 10pm and has worked in a variety of roles with the station since 1978. He earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1967 in Vermillion County, Illinois. Mark has served as a communications merit badge counselor and has hosted a number of council events over the years. He is a recipient of the Denver Area Council’s Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service.

    Michael Forshay has been an operations technician at 9NEWS since 2007. He’s a 1998 Eagle Scout from Troop 59, Denver Area Council.

    David Schenck is a commercial inventory specialist at 9NEWS and its parent company Gannett Inc, where he’s worked since 2010. He is a 1995 Eagle Scout from Troop 196, Denver Area Council.

    Milt Norton is an operations manager at 9NEWS, where he’s worked since 1991. He’s a 1977 Eagle Scout from Troop 149, Denver Area Council.

    Tim Ryan is the assistant news director at 9NEWS. He joined the station in 1991 and is a 1977 Eagle Scout from Troop 93, Milan, Missouri, Great Rivers Council. Tim has served as a Webelos leader for Pack 646 and committee chairman for Troop 171 (both in Aurora) and is currently the chapter adviser for the Medicine Pipe Chapter of Tahosa Lodge, the Denver Area Council’s Order of the Arrow organization.

    Chad Maurer is executive promotion producer at 9NEWS, with the station since 2004. He is a 1988 Eagle Scout from Troop 400, Denver Area Council.

    Robert Springer is the sales design director at 9NEWS. He joined the station in 1996 and earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1990 from Troop 326 in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

    Randy Barber is a multi-media journalist who works on the 9NEWS morning team. He joined the station in 1998 and became an Eagle Scout in 1992 with Troop 12, Denver Area Council.
