Tahosa High Adventure Base  EaglePoint Tahosa High Adventure Base is located adjacent to the Indian Peaks Wilderness in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado just 30 minutes west of Boulder, Colorado. Situated at over 9,000 feet with breathtaking views of Mount Audubon and Sawtooth, Camp Tahosa is a Boy Scout camp like no other.
Tahosa High Adventure Base is open for year round programming including Okpik winter camping weekends, Project COPE ropes course programs, Boy Scout Resident Camp and High Adventure. Camp Tahosa EaglePoint is a troop led program with Tahosa staff support. Bring your own tents, choose between eating in the dining hall or cooking in your campsite, Camp Tahosa EaglePoint allows you to develop your program to meet your needs. Staff can assist with merit badge instruction in Canoeing, Sailing, Fly Fishing, Archery, and Climbing along with many other merit badges. You can provide your older Scouts with the high ropes experience of Project COPE or send them on the introduction to backpacking program, Tahosa Trek. For experienced backpackers, the Tahosa Alpine Adventure program which provides a true mountaineering adventure with glissading, alpine climbing and mountaineering, route finding and Leave No Trace ethics training all in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. 2010 EaglePoint at Tahosa High Adventure Base Registration Form 2010 Dates for EaglePoint at Tahosa Alpine AdventuresFor your older Scouts, Varsity Scouts and Venturers, the Tahosa Alpine Adventure is a true back country mountaineering adventure. Backpack thirty to fifty miles in the Indian Peaks Wilderness with a trained guide while learning all about mountaineering skills and practices. Rock climb in a true back country environment, glissade down snow fields in July, learn about weather patterns, summit peaks of over 13,000 feet in elevation, and experience the back country adventure of a lifetime. The Tahosa Alpine Adventure is for Scouts aged 13 and up by January 1 of that summer. Spend seven days/six nights enjoying and experiencing the Indian Peaks Wilderness area. Learn all about Cony Pass, Buchanan Pass, Audubon, Toll, Apache Thumb and all of the other amazing areas on the Alpine trek. View a short slide show. Big Horn National Youth Leadership Training  Big Horn National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) Course is an intense week long youth oriented leadership training experience where highly qualified and extensively trained youth staff use the NYLT Course syllabus to instruct qualified participants. The course uses the patrol method and models a month in the life of a troop, three meetings (one each day for the first three days) leading to an outdoor experience (the overnight outpost camp). Hooked On Tahosa In 2006, Hooked on Tahosa introduced the world of fly fishing to 4 weekends of sold out programs. Experts from Trout Unlimited, Federation of Fly Fishermen and other volunteers provided an in depth fly fishing merit badge program for Scouts and leaders. In 2009, Hooked on Tahosa will offer 7 sessions. Fishing at Camp Tahosa could not be better during the spring and early fall.
