 In 2009, we have partnered with 9News to “Scout for Food” to donate to the 9Cares Colorado Shares holiday drive which provides food to over 125 food banks throughout the Metro area. King Soopers has provided 100,000 bags for Scouts to deliver to their neighborhoods beginning November 7th with a request to fill with food and pick up on the morning of Saturday, November 14th.
All Scouting units are encouraged to participate in this Council-wide community service initiative. This project is part of the Boy Scouts of America's national initiative, Good Turn for America.This annual event is a time for all Scouting units to conduct meaningful, visible service projects in their communities. Projects will take place across the entire metropolitan area. Projects can be done alone or in partnership with one or more units. Units can also partner with community organizations.
Good Turn Week participation will inspire our young people and teach them the importance of community service. Service is a key ingredient in Citizenship! It will also reinforce Scouting's positive contribution to the general community.
Each unit should select a Good Turn Week Coordinator and begin planning a project. You may register for this event online, just click on the Register button below.
Submit your roster of Good Turn Week participants no later than December 1, 2009 in order to be entered in the drawing for REALLY COOL PRIZES!
Upon completion of the project, each unit must register their completed project on the National Good Turn for America website.
