You will be given information about understanding the commissioner unit service role in supporting units, you will understand the methods and steps of good unit program planning and you will be able to understand commissioner priorities and how to be an effective leader yourself.

There is a four-function concept of council and district operations:

  1. Membership/Relationships - to make Scouting available to all youths.
  2. Finance - to provide adequate funds.
  3. Program - to maintain standards and policies.
  4. Unit Service - to serve chartered organizations through a commissioner staff.

The training will be held at Denver Area Council, BSA Headquarters in the Tahosa and Finance Conference rooms.
