The Denver Area Council – Black Feather District serves the following school districts: Douglas County, Littleton, Sheridan, Englewood, and Elbert County Schools.

Roundtable

The Black Feather Roundtable takes place the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m., temporarily at Parker United Methodist Church, at 11805 S. Pine Dr., Parker, 80134.

April Roundtable (4/2) will be held via online via Zoom. Access the live stream here at 7 p.m. on Thursday (4/2). Details will sent to unit key leaders as the date approaches. May Roundtable will also be conducted via Zoom.

Leader Awards

Nominate, Recognize, and Award your leaders for their outstanding service to scouting! Nominations will be open until Tuesday, May 1, at 1 p.m. All recipients will receive their awards in conjunction with a cast iron cooking contest at the June Roundtable on June 4th, 7 p.m. at United Methodist Church of Parker. Nominators and recipients are to invited to attend to receive their awards.

Unsung Hero

Check out a recent article from Bryan on Scouting about an extraordinary Scout in our District! Daniel K. is a member of Troop 280 in Parker and was awarded the Medal of Merit on January 6. Daniel demonstrated remarkable calm and advanced first aid skills when his brother cut his femoral artery when slicing a watermelon.

Camp Cards

Due to COVID-19, the Camp card sale has been amended to accommodate for the health and safety of all scouters.

  • Every unit selling will receive the additional $1 commission they would have received by hosting a booth at Scout Show as the event being canceled.
  • We are extending our final turn in deadline from May 29 to Friday, July 17.
  • We are adding two official turn in dates to accommodate everyone. You will able to secure your commission for each turn-in to give you more opportunities. All turn-ins are at the Denver Area Council Office, 10455 W. 6th Ave.
    • 1st: May 29th 8:30-10am and 2-4pm
    • 2nd: June 19th 8:30-10am and 2-4pm
    • 3rd and final: Friday, July 17th 8:30 – 4:00pm
  • All funds need to be settled in full no later than Friday, July 17, 2020
  • Use appropriate precautions if you sell Door-to-Door and/or Show-n-Sell.

Black Feather District Committee/Commissioner Meetings

The Black Feather District Committee and Commissioner Staff meets the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m., at Parker United Methodist Church, at 11805 S. Pine Dr., Parker, 80134. The District hosts a District leadership meeting for all District volunteers followed by short breakout sessions for committees and teams to meet and plan upcoming activities and organize service to units seeking additional assistance.

All District Committee/Commissioner Meetings will take place via Zoom for the forseeable future. All registered members of the committees will recieve login informaiton for the meetings via email. If you would like to be added to the distribution list, please contact District Executive Brett Drevlow.
