Have a conversation with your Chartering Organization about the next steps for you. Space is starting to open up! 

For information regarding the most up to date health orders and how they affect unit activities please take the following steps:

1. Be safe and provide options for every family to participate
2.. Consult with your Charter Organization to determine what rules or guidance they are operating under
3. Review the most current State of Colorado orders, as well as the Colorado guidelines that apply to the dial level for the county where you will be conducting your meeting/activity
4. Review any county variances or restrictions that are different or in addition to the county level requirements
5. Contact the facility where you plan to hold you activity to learn what riles or guidance they are implementing for operations.

2020 Black Feather District Awards

Nominate your leaders today!

This is a special time for Black Feather District volunteers, with recognition, fellowship, and inspiration. We will be presenting Outstanding Scouter Awards selected by each unit, the Footsteps of the Founder Award, the Spirit of Polaris Award, The Noble Sage Award, John Boyle Community Award, and the Unit Leader Award of Merit.

Each Unit (Pack, Troop, Team, Crew, or Post) has the opportunity to select adults to receive any award. This is your chance to publicly thank individuals who have given their time and efforts to make scouting successful within your unit.

District Pinewood Derby

Join us on June 12th at Kirk Hall, Douglas Country Fair Grounds for the District Pinewood Derby. 

Registration is open!

All Cub Scouts may enter whether or not they have participated in a Pack PWD this year.  Each participant will receive the official 2021 Pinewood Derby pin driven by our mascot “PeeVee”.

Also…Each Pack will receive five (5) FREE, yes five (5) FREE car kits as part of our Spring recruiting program.  Please invite five prospective Cub Scout age boys/girls to participate in the Open Division.  E-mail Tim Davies at scoutzilla16@gmail.com to arrange to pick up the five (5) free car kits.

2021 Day Camp

 Join us on August 14th-15th and August 21st-22nd at Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch!
 
Get excited for Cub Scout Day Camp:
 
  • Promotes fun and adventure with a purpose; day camp is a huge reason why Cub Scouts join, and why they remain in Cub Scouts.
  • Helps the Cub Scout succeed, and provides significant rank advancement opportunities.
  • Offers character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.
  • Meets individuals Scouts needs and interests by offering a fun, meaningful, and educational Scout program.
  • Helps to recruit new children into the unit during the summer.
  • Provides a method of recruiting, training and inspiring present and future Cub Scout adult leadership.
  • Provides the opportunity for units to earn the National Summertime Pack Award, and to work toward qualifying for the Journey to Excellence Award.

Every Scout that attends Cub Scout Day Camp will receive:

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) is a training course for Cub Scout Leaders. One BALOO trained leader is required to be at each Cub Scout overnighter.

 Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) is a training course for Scouts BSA Leaders. One leader is required to be IOLS trained on each campout

  • Due to COVID, virtual recruitment will be more important this year than ever before. Update your Be-A-Scout PIN to get new Scouts to join your unit. Be-A-Scout will allow your unit to accept online applications from your new families. Here is the step-by-step guide.

Black Feather District Committee/Commissioner Meetings

The Black Feather District Committee and Commissioner Staff meets the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m., at Parker United Methodist Church, at 11805 S. Pine Dr., Parker, 80134. The district hosts a district leadership meeting for all district volunteers followed by short breakout sessions for committees and teams to meet and plan upcoming activities and organize service to units seeking additional assistance.

All district committee/commissioner meetings will take place via Zoom for the foreseeable future. All registered members of the committees will receive login information for the meetings via email. If you would like to be added to the distribution list, please contact District Director, Garrett Byrd.
